Sadly, we have a... Unique situation at hand, thanks to how our race is, as a whole.
Namely, Failnaught himself is the one who's capable of restoring us, to be reset. So I'm not sure if we can even find a way for him to be restored.
As for Scythe, that's also something to be considered, but at the same time, it wouldn't have the same meaning to Failnaught, emotionally. Which... I can understand, at least. Plus, we would have to delve into research tied to the Astrals in order to understand how to... "Build" our own new Scythe. While possible, it's not something to be considered lightly, and it is an expensive endeavor, material-wise.
If you're free to speak to him, it might do him some good to get a more outside view.
And I've attempted to recommend him to do things that are out of his "comfort zone", but he is the type to hole up. Which is sadly... normal for what he is.
